POWER OF 1

 

On the day of Makar Sankranti, we decided to go up the Shaman hills to fly kites.

Dad and Rudranksh uncle went to buy the kites while Me, Mamma, my sister, my freind and Pramila aunty were getting ready and making arrangements for the small trip.

Later when we reached near the entry to the hills, the security told us that we are not allowed to fly the kites.  When we asked for the reason he said “Hamare upper waale ka order hai,Sir! hume maalum nahi kyu.” I was wondering what the reason could be.

“There could me many reasons” my father told me. “Like the birds may get stuck in the thread of the kite and die’. People go there and leave back the kite and other materials making the hill dirty”

Our parents were ready to leave,while we kids tried persuading the caretaker to allow us inside and started giving him some false information like it was one of ours birthday etc. etc

While we were determined to go inside, he was adamant to not allow us inside.

Then suddenly someone called Rudranksh uncle from behind. He was a bit fat and was wearing all types of expensive things I had never seen. His shirt had a Gucci print on it, a branded cap and one big gold chain.

There was a smile on Rudranksh uncle’s face. He told us that the man was his child hood friend.  Both of them started talking and then Rudranksh uncle told our intention of flying the kite on the hills. No sooner did the man hear this than he went and spoke to the security and we were let in.

We were allowed inside. We got to know he was an influential person of that area. I was astonished when this happened.

Though we were happy that we got entry inside, I thought whether I should enter or not as it was not fair. Like that we can even get free tickets for a full India trip if we just have contact with influential people.

I am still confused.

Is this right or wrong?

Is this why India is lagging behind from rest of the great countries?

It is told that the government of india belongs to the people, it is told that there is no king or queen. Then why is it like this that if an influential person comes then all the freedom is gone. All the poor and middle class people have to listen to him or her, be it a small or a big politician.
